The monkey-king, Multimedia Installation, 25. April – 5. Mai 2002, Villa Claudia, Feldkirch AustriaThe installation of the table of the monkey king consits of a chair, a black board, a TV set, 3 phallus shaped objects, a eating set for children and 2 inscriptions, "Donau" (Danube) next to the TV set and "oben am jungen Rhein" (up along the young river rhine). A video shows the monkey-king threatening his virtual guest in a patriarchal and arrogant manner with ignorance and isolation, if he or she doesn't behave according his absolutistic wishes. Though the installation deals with constellations of power and (imagined) dependance, there is also a link to the ongoing debate about the constitution between the prince and the people of Liechtenstein (in 2001/2002) through the inscriptions.
